Senior Happenings at Our Savior's |
The Senior Drop-in Center is OpenThe Senior Center continues its Thursday programs on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays during June and the rest of the summer. The Senior Ministry is an outreach to the entire community, as well as to OSLC. Please invite your friends.
Where is the Center? Come into the SE door of the church and down the stairs or elevator. You will be directed to the center with entry on the NW side of the fellowship hall (go up the ramp to enter). OR, come in the Senior Center Door off the church’s north parking lot. A ramp is provided for easy access. What’s our plan for bad weather? If the Denver Public Schools close, so do we. Otherwise we will be here. Please use your own judgment as to whether you should be out on bad weather days.
The Senior Center is adding new programming. The following donations are needed: printer, office supplies, Cuisinart, bingo set, books, and blank CD's. Thank you to all who have donated. Our list was longer but several items came to us unsolicited.
We have people—Thank you to all who have been involved in small and big ways. A special thanks this month to Karen May and Frank Tapy who provided and hung new curtains. And we can’t forget Ricardo Trujillo, our volunteer chef, who has been searching his cookbooks and bringing in exotic items such as Truffle Oil to bring our meals to the level of Five Star Gourmet. Thanks to our Kitchen Administrator, Jerry Maher, who searches the stores for the best buys, plans the meals and leads the charge in cooking. Thanks to Daniel Hutchins whose hard work assures that serving goes smoothly. And we have plans—The sky’s the limit for Capitol Hill’s only Senior Center. We’re getting the basics down, and soon we will be marketing the center to reach out to a larger community. Grant writing is our next step as well. Send your friends our way! Stay tuned for more. We Seniors are on the move! Jane Mountain (Director)
